Body

Hello, I have been writing the story of my mother's cousin who died during WW2,  In Holland on the battlefield April 8, 1945. He was with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, 2nd Canadian Corps.  I have been reading all I can find about the battles that happened in Holland during the Spring of '45, and reading your website was the most emotional.  Your story of being there during the 2015 remembrance, allowed me to be there also.  I have now decided that I will make a trip to Holland when funds afford me to do so.

OUR JOURNEY IN 2019 TO FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE HEROES OF HURON IN NORTH-WEST EUROPE IN WORLD WAR I & WORLD WAR II.

Utah Beach

In April of 2019, a group of 7 men made a journey to Europe will the goal of following our Canadians from Juno Beach on the Normandy coast through France, Belgium, the Netherlands and then into Germany. The group consisted of men who were interested in the history of our Canadian fallen, the military history and its significance in our lives today. We also were going to experience the emotions one would feel when you visit the cemeteries and memorials where our young men are honoured and remembered.

COMMONWEALTH WAR GRAVES CEMETERIES AND MEMORIALS

Recently, I took a group of men who are interested in the history of the First and Second World Wars to Europe for 17 days. We called ourselves "the magnificent seven". Some of the group had been overseas a number of times previously and some had never experienced the emotions of what our Canadians sacrificed and died for.
