Pivate Carter arrived in Liverpool on August 8, 1918 and on October 29th he went overseas into France to the Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp.
Private Carter died from the effects of pneumonia and was originally buried in a German cemetery, and at a later date his remains were moved to Brussels Town Cemetery – Belgium.
During the month of May 1918, he was transferred to the Ottawa Overseas Depot of the Canadian Army Service Corps following the 93rd draft. He then proceeded to Halifax and departed Canada July 1918 arriving in
Gravesend - Kent onAugust 8, 1918.
He was taken on strength by the CASC at Shorncliffe in August 1918 and went overseas to France on
October 30, 1918.
On January 8, 1919 he was admitted to No. 1 Casualty Clearing Station – Mons suffering from the affects of influenza. He died from the influenza and pneumonia on January 10, 1919 at No. 1 Hospital – Etratet.
